Elwood "Lee" Wilson

November 15, 1956 — November 2, 2023

Elwood (Lee) Wilson was born November 15, 1956, in Phoenix Arizona to Kathleen Brown Wilson and Elwood D Wilson, the first of their family. Followed by Craig, Sarah Hintze, Scott, Brent, Mike, Mark, George and Christine Wilson. He attended Dixie College on a Football Scholarship. He said he definitely had more fun there than studying. Lee then served a two-year mission in Argentina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved the Argentine people and it was hard for him to leave them. He then attended Brigham Young University. He hoped to walk onto their football team, which he did. It was the following year there that he met his sweetheart, Leanne Larson. They were married February 22, 1979 in the Salt Lake temple. Utah was their home before the birth of four of their children and while Lee finished his Sociology degree from U of U. They then moved to Iowa for a job microfilming old records for genealogy. While there they had their last two children and Lee received his Masters in Counseling from Western Illinois University. In time they moved to Idaho to start his career working for Idaho’s department of Health and Welfare as a clinician for Children’s Mental Health. He loved helping families find the help they needed. Working with his clinicians was so important. He loved them. Lee loved music, movies, and dancing; especially disco in the day. His greatest loves were his children, his faith, and his wife. He wanted to write a couple of books and hoped in retirement to create programs to provide pajamas for foster children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen Brown Wilson and Elwood D Wilson. He leaves his wife Leanne Larson Wilson, and his children Anna Christine Martinez, Michelle Lyn Elison (Jeremy), David Lee Wilson (Ally), Kathryn Nicole Bagley (Jim), Daniel Eric Wilson (Alyssa), and Dianna Elizabeth Simonson (Joseph); his grandchildren, Avery and Sophia Elison, Nadia Martinez, Sullivan and Nathan Simonson, Willa Artemis Bagley. As well as his brothers and sisters. His funeral will be held at the LDS Church on 2085 S Temple Twin Falls, Idaho 83301 on November 11th at 11:00 AM. The family will be available 30 minutes before in an adjacent room to receive condolences. Condolences at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com
