George T. Peter Jr. 88, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. It was a blessing the family were all able to see him the last week of this life. George was born on May 3, 1933 in Phoenix, AZ to George T Peter and Janet Riggs Peter. He graduated from Phoenix High School in 1951. He graduated with a degree in Animal Husbandry from Colorado State University in 1956. He served in the Army US Artillery from 1957-1959 and left ranked as 1st LT. He was a member of the ELK’s for 64 years. George met his current wife through a mutual friend. They married on May 22, 1981 at the United Methodist Church in Filer, ID They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past May. George ranched for many years in Payson, AZ. He moved to King Hill, ID and ranched for several years. He then moved to Hansen/Twin Falls Area, ranched and began working for Amalgamated Sugar Co. in 1969 and retired in 1995. George loved to watch football, camp, fly fish in his float tube, tie his own flys and hunt for deer and elk. In his younger years, he enjoyed snow skiing, especially with his kids. He loved western music, watching western films and enjoyed reading Loius L’amour books. Everyone knew his “Pride and Joy” was his beloved mule, “Stretch” who he showcased in many parades. George was predeceased by his parents, George T. and Janet Peter. He is survived by his sister, Sue Agramonte (Chicago), by his wife Bonnie Peter, his children, George III (Lenorah) Peter, Cheryl (Tim) Bennett, Jon Peter, stepdaughter’s, Teri (Kevin) Lee, Donna (Jeff) Newbry, our Swedish Son, Gustav Wallheden and 12 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson. The funeral service will be held at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Kimberly, ID on Friday, November 5, at 1:00 PM. The family would like to thank the staff at Chardonnay Assisted Living and Auburn Crest Hospice for their kindness and care during his time there.
