Gregory John Winkle, 65, of Twin Falls, Idaho received his wings on October 7, 2022 surrounded by his family after a cardiac episode. Greg made the selfless decision to be an organ donor and was able to give the gift of a longer life to several recipients. He is our true Super Hero. Greg was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on December 21, 1956 to John and Connie Winkle. He was raised on the family farm in Filer, Idaho. Where he grew his love of animals. He graduated from Filer Highschool in 1975 and went on to attend ISU and CSI. Greg farmed for 10 years before becoming a long-haul truck driver for Clear Springs Trout and Giltner Trucking. And later pulled camp trailers for Star Fleet. He also drove school bus for the Filer School District route. Greg was a volunteer for the Filer QRU. And he was a member of the Magic Mountain Ski Patrol in his earlier years. Greg was a 4-H and FFA member all through his school years. And later he became a 4-H leader and was able to mentor many children throughout their journey of showing sheep projects. He always had a dream to get a moose. And he was able to fulfill that dream. One moose was not enough so Greg and his son Rory drove to Canada in pursuit of a second Moose. After a week in below freezing temps in a tent they were able to bring home another moose. Greg had a passion for rodeo and bull riding, consistently following the PBR bull riders. And he was able to attend several different years of World PBR Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Where he was able to meet his favorite bull rider, JB Mauney who signed his cowboy hat. Greg was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father John Winkle, brother Jerry Winkle, and his in-laws Robert and Nancy Brown. Although he had owned and lost many pets throughout his 65 years he had a special bond with his buddy, Jackson (his dog) whom he will spend eternity. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Becky, his three children Chelsey Winkle, Tara (Michael) Walker, Rory (Robin) Winkle, 5 grandchildren Maycie Winkle, Gavin & Jase Walker, Greyson & Jaxon Winkle, his mother Connie Winkle, and sister JoAnn (Mike) Gemar.
