Harriett Kearl

June 27, 1932 — April 5, 2021

Harriett Schvaneveldt Kearl Our mom concluded her life on this earth and was reunited with her eternal companion, Ernie, on April 5, 2021, at the age of 88. She passed peacefully in Twin Falls, Idaho, at home with Krista. Born on June 27, 1932 in Logan, Utah as Harriett Schvaneveldt, she was the youngest daughter and one of five siblings to Melvin and Sarah Jane Schvaneveldt. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jane, her husband of 43 years, and is survived by her brothers Allen, Wesley and Noel. Harriett and Ernest were sealed in the Logan Temple on December 7, 1956, and together built a home for their family on the farm. Her appreciation for nature’s beauty, a love for flowers and her tireless efforts as a home-maker were at the forefront of her daily life. She loved all animals and took great pride in caring for them. She lived her life in the loving service of and care for her family, including her parents, children and grandchildren alike. Together, our mom and dad raised seven remarkable children, all surviving: Krista (Dave) Hadlock, Ken (Diane) Kearl, Joe (Melynda) Kearl, Marty (Tina) Kearl, Rod (Alisa) Kearl, Melanie (Jerome) Davies, and Steven (Kyle) Kearl. Mom was known as Grandma to 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Our parents showed us the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the power of love all nurtured through the quiet, unassuming example set by our mom throughout her life. Her special presence in the lives of all who knew her will be deeply missed. We know she is now hiking beautiful mountain trails and rocky beaches with our dad, and too many beloved puppies to name. Harriett’s memorial services will include a visitation from 6:00-7:30pm on Thursday, April 15 at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. A Celebration of Life and Burial services will be held Friday, April 16 at 1:00pm at the Logan Cemetery, 1000 North, 12th East, in Logan, Utah. Funeral services are under the direction of Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home.
