Iris M Boyd

Iris M. Boyd, a loving wife, devoted mother, and talented artist, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Twin Falls, Idaho, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on July 29, 1949, in Wendell, Idaho, Iris lived a life filled with love, passion, and creativity, which resonates beautifully in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Iris dedicated 25 years of her life to LongView Fiber, but it was in the vibrant world of art that she truly found her voice. Beginning in the 1990s, she became renowned for her stunning paintings on feathers, captivating audiences far and wide. Her remarkable art has graced the walls and hearts of prominent figures, including President Bush and dignitaries from the Empire of China. Each feather she adorned told a story, inspiring millions around the globe.

Art was intertwined in every aspect of Iris’s life. She thrived on creativity, constantly exploring new hobbies and craft shows, forever sharing her talents with family and friends. Her adventurous spirit shone brightly through her love for fishing, camping, and road trips, always ready to create unforgettable memories with her daughters Tammy Clark (Shane) and Dusty Moller, and her many grandchildren.

Known for having the biggest heart, Iris selflessly put her family and friends first, finding joy in spending time with loved ones. Whether it was playing games with her grandchildren or embarking on treasure-hunting adventures, she embraced every moment spent together. Her warmth, kindness, and sense of adventure created a legacy of love that will forever echo within her family.

Iris’s educational journey began in Stanley, where she attended school until the eighth grade before being boarded out to Challis for high school. Life was never without challenges, yet her resilience and unwavering spirit were remarkable. Above all, she took pride in raising two wonderful daughters and imparting her faith in Jesus onto them, a treasure she passed down to her grandchildren.

Iris is survived by her beloved husband, Randy Boyd, her daughters, Tammy Clark (Shane), Dusty Moller, and her grandchildren: Dustin (Katelyn), Torey (Caitlyn), Todd (Marie), Tyler (Amber), Kylea (Stormie), Jacob, Hunter (Kaity), Trinity (Rey), and Kamion (Saif). The joy she brought to their lives lives on in the 16 great-grandchildren who will carry her legacy forward. She is also survived by her siblings: Richard, Ralene, Paula, Claire (Crystal), Bert (LaRee), Curtis (Tammy), and Terry (Jim).

Iris was preceded in death by her father, Dale Hollibaugh, and Ray Achenbach; her mother, Ilene Burr; her grandparents, Ira and Margaret Wells; her brother, Hugh Hollibaugh; and her daughter, Debbie Duffy-Studtmann & Cami, along with several other family members.

Iris Boyd's life was a vibrant palette of love, creativity, and cherished family moments. Although she battled an unknown liver disease with grace, she left this world surrounded by her family, embodying the love that defined her life. Her remarkable spirit will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her, serving as a reminder that family, faith, and creativity are the true treasures in life.

Iris is a direct descendant and registered Potawatomi Indian with the Indian name of Sheppo. She was raised in Stanley, Idaho where her family all lived next door to each other. Her great grandfather who was raised on the reservation, taught her many of the Indian ways. As a child she would sit for hours fascinated by the Sawtooth’s and her unmeasured beauty. She remembers wishing and hearing for the ability to capture that feeling on paper. She has always been taken by animals, having deep feelings for God’s creatures. Iris credits all of this and her talent to God, for he is my inspiration.

A memorial service for Iris will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Lighthouse Christian Chruch, 960 Eastland Drive, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
