James Elmo Lee

April 23, 1939 — June 1, 2022

James “Jim” Elmo Lee, 83, of Twin Falls died June 1st, 2022, at his home. He passed away peacefully of natural causes, under the care of his family and hospice. He was born to Elmo and Nellie Lee in Twin Falls, Idaho on April 23rd, 1939. He grew up and lived in Twin Falls his entire life. He married his wife, Edna May Preston on August 30, 1957, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had five sons and one daughter. Jim’s first job was at A&W, flipping burgers, in 9th grade, followed by working with Davey Tree, clearing lines. Most of his working life was spent with the Amalgamated Sugar Factory (White Satin). He was especially proud of his work and accomplishments on behalf of his fellow workers as President of the Grain Millers 283 union. Jim was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed his various callings and leadership responsibilities over the years. Jim enjoyed many outdoor activities, such as camping, hunting, fishing and trail riding. He also played the tuba throughout his life, starting in pep bands in high school. He even joined a German band during his early retirement years. Jim loved to read, and to watch TV and movies. Jim was an avid Utah Jazz fan, never missing a game if he could help it. “Take Note” He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, which was clear even lately, by all of the many friends and family who recently visited him at his 83rd birthday party. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edna, and son David. He is survived by his brother Lynn (Patty), children Jim, John (Rita), Lori (Bonnie), Mike (Tory) and Doug (Becky), as well as 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the LDS church located at 847 Eastland Dr. Twin Falls, Idaho with a viewing to begin at 1pm. A graveside will follow at Twin Falls Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the caregivers at Heritage Hospice for their compassionate care of Jim over the last few months of his life.
