James O. White

August 29, 1946 — May 4, 2023

James O. White, age 76 of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from complications of Glioblastoma (brain cancer). Jim was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on August 29, 1946, to Glenn and Max White, and is one of seven children. Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps in San Diego, California in 1966. He went on to serve in the Vietnam War and later came home as a decorated Veteran. Jim later met and married Gloria Jean “Jeannie” Ochsner in Twin Falls where they raised three daughters, Jena Renee’ Harris (Ahmad), Katherine Ann Miller (Jeff), and Shannon Marie White. Jim has eleven grandchildren: (Jena) Brock, Brittany, and Ayden “Jibril”, (Katherine) NiKiesha, Cierra, Cody, and Kendall, (Shannon) Destani, Kaylea, Kierin, and Kasen. Jim has nine great-grandchildren: Trystan, Lillian, Joshua, Bucklee, Evaelaine, Kendrick, Vada, Bentley, and Westin. Jim enjoyed a 39-year career as a long-haul truck driver, serving most of his time at Montana Express in Wendell, Idaho. He also spent several years in Round Mountain, Nevada in the Gold Mines as a Haul Driver. He felt happiest when he was driving on the roads across the U.S. and Canada with his favorite 4- legged co-pilot, Dottie Ann. Jim enjoyed panning for gold, metal detecting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Jim was proud of his 34 years of sobriety in the 12-Step Program. Through his journey, he was a speaker and mentor who sponsored other like-minded people. It was through those relationships that he gained the knowledge and power to stay clean and sober. He made it his mission in life to support all others who were struggling in their own journey. He was most proud of the fact that his grandchildren and great-grandchildren only knew the man he became. Jim is survived by five siblings: Jane Brown, Brenda White, DeAnn Cluff, Beverly Berger, and Lee Lukenbill. He is proceeded in death by his parents Glenn and Max, his brother Doug, and his dog Dottie Ann.
