Janice Irene Phillips

May 25, 1940 — December 10, 2021

Janice was born in Hood River, Oregon. May 25, 1940 To Opal and Roy Pugh. They Moved to Vancouver where her brother Bill joined the family. Eventually the family moved to The Dalles, OR where she went to school and graduated in 1958 from The Dalles High School. Janice continued her education at Portland State University. On weekends she would ride the bus home, then her parents drove her back to school Sunday. Janice and Budd met at the county fair. Before long they were married. With Darvin their family was started, and was complete in 1965 when Maria was born. By 1970 they moved their family to Twin Falls, Idaho. Janice worked at KEEP Radio, Green Giant in Buhl, and also transcribing Medical Recods. Together Janice and Budd became active in the Jaycees where they worked on community projects, and became close friends with so many people. Her heart was always with children. She found her way to working with kids at Twin Falls School District, O’Leary Jr. High & Lincoln Elementary school, and finally to Light House Christian School as Lunch Lady and Teachers Aid for over 12 years. They loved camping, annual trips to the coast to gather sand dollars, Hawaii, Cruising to Alaska and Mexico and lots others, but their favorite trip was to Israel. For her 60th birthday Budd surprised her with a 1968 mustang. This opened the doors to more traveling, and car shows region wide. After retirement her mom encouraged her to join water aerobics which she enjoyed with her friends for many years. She treasured her times at Lighthouse church with many friends, especially weekly Bible studies, and ladies retreats. They were blessed with grandchildren entering their life from 1981 through 2007. 4 grandsons 4 granddaughters. They were so proud of each one. Joy was multiplying as 12 Great grandchildren started arriving in 2005. After 52 years of marriage she was preceded in death by her Husband Budd Phillips. About a year later she was blessed by her brother moving from Oregon to Twin Falls. She was also Preceded in death by parents Roy and Opal Pugh. Niece Shelly Pugh, and grandson Clayton Benner, great granddaughter Katie Edwards.
