Jeannine Sears Whitehead, age 90, of Twin Falls Idaho passed away unexpectedly of a sudden illness on January 17th, 2021. Jeannine was born in Oakley, Idaho on November 17th, 1930 to E. Emerson and Mina Wells Sears, the 2nd of four children. She and her family enjoyed many adventures, but Jeannine found the greatest joy in spending time with her Grandma Wells. Here she learned many things, but most notably how to cook the family favorite Chicken and Noodles. Jeannine graduated from Twin Falls High School in May of 1949. Jeannine met and married the love of her life, Wayne R. Whitehead on May 28th, 1949. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where they were sealed for time and all eternity. They were married for 66 years at the time of Wayne’s passing. Jeannine and Wayne loved to spend time in the mountains with their three daughters. They frequently camped out at Alturas Lake until they built their cabin in the beautiful Stanley area. It was a labor of love. Jeannine was an active member of her church since her baptism in 1952. She was always there to help others, whether it was a warm meal or a friendly visit. She loved to share advice with her family and friends. She was a very active person who found joy in exercise and walks. Jeannine held several jobs throughout her life. After retirement she and Wayne enjoyed trips to Alaska, Hawaii, and Washington DC to name a few. Jeannine is survived by three daughters, Diane Stewart of Meridian, Kathy (Dennis) Frederickson of Lawrence Kansas, and Cherie Whitehead of Twin Falls; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Jeannine was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Whitehead, sister Della Chase, grandson Justin Frederickson, sister-in-law Marlene Sears, and grandson Karl Stewart. A viewing for family and very close friends will be held Sunday, January 24th at Parke’s Funeral Home at 2551 Kimberly Road from 5-7 pm. A second viewing will be at noon with the funeral following at 1:00 on Monday, January 25th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2680 Elizabeth Blvd. in Twin Falls with Bishop William Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at the Twin Falls Cemetery. A live webcast of the funeral service will be available at zoom.us, enter meeting ID 748-815-8781 (passcode 12345). Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, the wearing of facemasks will be required at the viewings, funeral, and cemetery services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeannine’s memory may be given to a charity of your choice.
