John W Becker, age 83, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away at his home in the presence of the “Love his life”, his wife Karen of 62 years. John and Karen met while attending the same High School and they were married in 1960 in Fargo North Dakota John was born in North Dakota in 1939 to Wesley and Regina Becker. He graduated from Monango High School in ND and in 1962 graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. John served as a Lieutenant in the US Army Corp of Engineers from 1963 to 1965 and after living in 7 states working as a Civil Engineer, he retired from the State of Idaho Transportation Department. John loved to travel with Karen and they traveled to 38 states and 3 countries. Because they traveled before cell phones and GPS, John always said Karen was an expert copilot. In his retirement he loved camping and 4 wheeling in Idaho and Arizona. John was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Bertha Knox and infant sister, baby Becker. He is survived by his wife, Karen Becker, sister Eileen Peterson of Bloomington MN, son Warren (Toni) Becker of Twin Falls Idaho, daughter Tonya (Tim) Critz of Minot ND, Kimberly (Perry) Miller of Rigby ID and 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A private life celebration was held with military honors in Twin Falls ID. John’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life. His favorite verse was Joshua 24:15, But for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
