John Horott

John (“Johnny”) Horott, age 77 passed away on June 20, 2023 at St Luke’s Medical Center in Twin Falls, ID with Sharon, his wife of 55 years by his side. Johnny was born May 29, 1946 in Bothel/Hannover (Germany), the son of Eleanor (Gress) McCloskey, the late Jerry McCloskey and the late Ted Horott. Johnny graduated from Mandan High School in 1965 and joined the US Air Force shortly after. Johnny and Sharon married on April 5, 1968 and spent their years together living in many places including North Dakota, Michigan, Wyoming, California, South Dakota, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Idaho. They quickly made many long-lasting friendships wherever they lived. Johnny had a passion for everything he did and he was a proud member of the Twin Falls, ID Lions Club, and enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He was known for his witty sense of humor and loved teasing his little sister about politics. Survivors include his Wife Sharon (Trusty Horott) and his little girl “Chachi”, Twin Falls, ID, Mother Eleanor McCloskey, Mandan, ND, Sister Jeri Lynn (McCloskey) Leingang, Windsor, CO. Special thanks to friends Dot and Brett Mason for their friendship and concern during the last days of Johnny’s time and the exceptional care given to him by the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke’s. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
