John Whaley

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Whaley, who left this world on December 1, 2023, in Twin Falls, Idaho, at the age of 66.

John was born on November 30, 1957, to Shirley and Sara Whaley in Sulligent, Alabama. John graduated from Sulligent High School in 1976, marking the beginning of a life filled with diverse experiences and cherished memories. After graduating he embarked on a journey that eventually led him to Hailey, Idaho, where he made his mark working at Sawtooth Auto Sales and later at Hertz Rental Car.

Throughout his life, John explored the picturesque landscapes of Idaho, making the Wood River Valley his cherished home. He had an adventurous spirit, finding joy in activities such as golfing, fly fishing, and bike riding. His love for the outdoors reflected his appreciation for the beauty that surrounded him.

John is survived by his loving sons, Rod (Tera) Whaley of Vacaville, CA, and Bryan Whaley of Huntsville, AL, his grandchildren River, Kyle, Zac and Oli, and his great grandchild Elrei. He is also remembered by his brother Ricky Whaley of Sarasota, FL, and sister Tisa Watkins of Fayette, AL. 

John was preceded in death by Shirley Whaley, Joyce Whaley, and Amanda Whaley.
