Juan “John” Richard Nunez, age 88, of Filer, Idaho, Passed away at St. Luke’s in Twin Falls surrounded by his family March 30, 2019 of ongoing illnesses. John was born in Hollister, California on November 7, 1930 to Richard and Ruby Nunez. In lieu of graduating he joined the Navy in 1946 when he was 16. John served 9 years and was medically discharged where he returned to Los Banos, California. He then attended barber school with his brother Bill in Fresno, California. John met his future wife Evelyn Elaine Costa in 1953 at a town dance where she sang and played piano in a band. They were married July 7th of the same year in Carson City, Nevada. They resided in Los Banos, California where they raised their family. They moved to Filer, Idaho in 1984. John loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He had a passion for gardening and spending time with his family. He barbered in Filer for 8 years and made many friends throughout that time. John was predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn in 1990. He was also predeceased by his sisters Tootsie and Vergina, his brother Bill and grandson Tony. He is survived by his sister Evelyn and Emelda, his brother George, his sons John, David, and Darrell. His daughter Eden. Several grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. A funeral will be held at Filer Church of the Nazarene in Filer, Idaho on Monday, April 8, at 2:00 P.M.
