Kenneth Allen Spencer 1936 – 2021 Kenneth Allen Spencer, age 85 of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away September 26, 2021 at his home in Twin Falls with his loving wife Joan at his side. Kenneth was born September 24, 1936 in Boise, Idaho to Ervin Spencer and Gweneth Powell Bates Spencer. His father passed away, and his mother remarried Thomas Bates who then became Kenneth’s stepfather. In 1956, Ken married Arlene Johnson. To this union were born four children. Ken and Arlene later divorced and Ken married Joan Sellers in 1995. In December 1954, Ken enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at various locations stateside and TDY, Alaska, Spain, and was also stationed in Vietnam. Ken retired from the military in August 1975. He drove cattle truck for 8 ½ years for Wagner of Twin Falls, then spent 17 ½ years long haul trucking. Ken retired from trucking in 2007 at the age of 70. Ken enjoyed traveling, RV’ing and going to new places. He was a people person and liked to meet new people. He loved his family and friends. Ken stayed in touch over the years with several lifelong friends. He enjoyed several Air Force reunions, catching up with the men he had served with years ago. Ken was always willing to help out if someone needed it, whether it be family, friends or strangers. Ken grew up with his siblings, Sharon Bates McBride and Sherlene Bates Whitlock; he adored his children, Timothy Allen Spencer, Kenneth Michael Spencer, Shelly Lynette Spencer McAlindin, Corey Lynn Spencer and stepdaughter, Monique (Mo) Black. Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Gweneth, Father Ervin, stepfather -Thomas, sister Sherlene, sons, Corey and Tim Spencer. Surviving Ken is his wife Joan, son Mike Spencer, daughter Shelley McAlindin and stepdaughters, Monique (Mo) Black, 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held complete with Military Honors, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home & Crematory 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, ID. Ken will later be Privately Inurned at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho.
