Lavere Larson

February 10, 1947 — June 20, 2022

LaVere J. Larson was born February 10, 1947, in Hyrum, Utah, to Earl and Venna Larson. LaVere passed away June 20, 2022, surrounded by his family and loved ones at his home in Twin Falls, Idaho. After he graduated high school, LaVere served in the US Army for 3 years, earning the rank of Private First Class. After his service, LaVere ventured out into the world. He lived in San Francisco, Kauai, and made many stops across the Western United States. In Logan, Utah, in the park across the street from the tabernacle on main st. LaVere was invited by the original 4 Bob, Clide, Carl, and Fred to be the first prospect and member of The Brother Speed Motorcycle Club Logan Chapter on 4th North, where he nurtured his love for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. LaVere explored the West with vigor, and eventually settled in Twin Falls, where he raised his family and worked with his cousins Kirk and Lex Christiansen at Christiansen Construction, where he worked for the majority of his life. If you’ve ever met or were brave enough to introduce yourself to LaVere J. Larson you found out pretty quickly he was a kind-hearted and loving person despite the stories you may have been told. LaVere treated everyone who knew him with the respect they deserved. LaVere was tough, cunning, loyal, charismatic, resilient, and most of all trustworthy. He loved being outside. Working construction was an easy way to be outside while making a living at the same time. He loved mowing his big yard, which started out as a small patch of grass out front. Most of all he loved being in the shop out back. If his car was home and you couldn't find him, he would be out back by himself or with his friends, working on or tinkering with whatever vehicle he had, mainly motorcycles… of course after you fix it you have to paint it and he most certainly did that, even if the color wasn't the most appealing to anyone's eye. He was a woodworker, fisherman, hunter, gun enthusiast, and he loved to mess with people in a “friendly, youthful” way. LaVere loved going for a ride, a drive, or a cruise. If it had wheels he loved it, especially the 2-wheeled version with a Harley-Davidson motor in the frame. In December of 1984, he married Heidi Kootstra, a Dutch dairyman's daughter. Introduced by a friend of hers, they hit it off right away. LaVere is survived by his 8 children Matt Cunningham, Nathen Massie, Sarah Larson, Levi Larson, Hillary Larson, Erek Larson, Nikki Larson (Mark Green), and Vanessa Brennan (Joey Brennan), and his 12 grandchildren Shirlee Green, Wyatt Cunningham, Rico Nunez-Larson, Makena Crews, Julia Diaz-Larson, Roy Diaz-Larson, Aspen Larson, Gus Larson, Henrik Bogdon, Janessa Diaz-Larson, Declan Larson, Baby Brennan. He never missed an opportunity to teach his children and grandchildren everyday life skills. He was a loving, honest, and straightforward father and grandfather. An annual vacation was always in LaVere’s plans for his family. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him and he had no problem changing his own life to accommodate that. LaVere truly lived for his kids and grandkids.
