. Leona Talbot, age 101 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center under Hospice Care at approx. 2:00 A.M. on August 16, 2020 from complications due to deteriorating health related to Dementia. Leona was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 28, 1919 to Waldo Devore and Eugene “Bessie” Conley Devore. Her mother passed when Leona turned 3 years old and she and her older sister, Rheba were placed in an orphanage. Their grandmother came for them when Leona was 11 years old and took her and Rheba to her home in Huntington, West Virginia. Leona never received a High School diploma but had a 10th grade education. Leona met her husband, Wallace Talbot after being introduced by Wallace’s Aunt who owned and ran a Boarding House where Leona rented a room. They were married September 27, 1953 in Las Vegas, NV. Leona was a homemaker and seamstress, raised 4 children she adopted and 2 children through Social Services in Southern California. Her special interests were teaching God’s Word to her family, and anyone who would listen. She finished her working career as the owner of “Lee-Tal” Fashions which was specifically “Bridal Gowns” and “Bridesmaid’s Gowns” design and production. It was a very satisfying and rewarding job. As Leona once “Put It”, to have future Bride’s scream with excitement when they tried on their gowns. She was paid handsomely for this service and word of mouth spread like wildfire until she had to give it up at the age of 81 years old. This business was in Aloha, Oregon and at its’ conclusion, they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where she and Wallace remained together until Wallace’s passing on April 8, 2020 at the age of 97 years old. Leona soon followed on August 16, 2020 at the age of 101 years old. Surviving Leona are 3 of her children, Brenda, Steve and Tammy. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Stephen, Jr.; Michael and Kimberley; numerous nieces & nephews, too many to count!! But she loved them all and until the debilitating effects of dementia took her over, talked frequently about all of her family members and how proud she was of the lives they lead.
