Leonette Kemp Rice, age 76, was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on April 9th, 1942. She passed away on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 from heart complications. Leonette grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota and went to the University of Minnesota for one year. She became a realtor in Minnesota in 1974 and worked for 40 years in real estate as a broker in San Diego county. She loved her field and was a top winning realtor in Fallbrook and San Diego areas . She was married to her first love, Robert Ziemba for 10 years. He passed away in 1998. Leonette lived with the other love of her life, her husband James Rice in Fallbrook, Ca. She described Fallbrook as one of the happiest places in which she had ever lived. They moved from Fallbrook to Gold Beach, Oregon (her second happiest place). James passed away in 2008. Leonette was very proud of her children: Lisa, Stacey, and Shawn, and her grandchildren: Chantal, Maxwell, Orion, and Robyn. Leonette also had a daughter, Robin, who passed away at the age of 3 months. As a memorial to the loss of her daughter Robin, Leonette and her husband James helped to build a Pregnancy Resource Center later in life. The Pregnancy Resource Center was a place for unwed mothers or mothers who wished to have an abortion. It became a place where women were able to be assisted in keeping their babies and not go through with an abortion. She was also very proud and fulfilled by being a CASA volunteer in Oregon. Leonette was a born again Christian who believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior. Jesus was the center of her life. She said she would often talk with God on her walks with her dogs. The paths were perfect as they twisted and turned through the woods along the ocean, so symbolic of life. Preceding Leonette in death are her mother and father, Walter and Myrtle, her daughter Robin, her husband Robert, her husband James, many aunts, uncles, and grandparents and her Yorkie, Missy. Leonette is survived by Sue and Chuck, her sister and brother-in-law, Clayton and Dick, her brother and his partner, Lisa and Kent, her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Todd, her daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Andrea, her son and daughter-in-law, and her grandchildren, Chantal, Maxwell, Orion, Robyn, Dixie, and by her Yorkie. Leonette's one and only wish was that all of her children and grandchildren would have a close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A private graveside memorial service was held on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019, at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, CA.
