Lueanne Hopwood
July 19, 1935 - May 25, 2024
With a deep sense of sorrow and loss our family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Lueanne Hopwood on May 25, 2024 at the age of 88.
Lueanne passed away peacefully in her home with her loving husband, Gene Hopwood, by her side.
Lueanne was born in Twin Falls, ID to Benjamin John Hampton and Winnie Del Lee Hampton on July 19, 1935. She was born the youngest of 8 children.
She attended schools in Twin Falls where she then graduated from Twin Falls High School. During that time she met James Russell Baker. They married November 24, 1955 and to this union they had 3 children Russell, Kathy and Jeanne. They later divorced in 1979.
Years later she met her soulmate Eugene Roger Hopwood. They were married June 14, 1996. They spent much of their time, up until just a few years ago, camping and fishing.
Mom was very strong willed and kept her wittiness up until the end. Mom will be missed by all, but her memory will live on in us forever. We love you so much and will miss you more than words can say.
Lueanne is survived by her husband Gene, her sister Ardith and her children: Russell (Terri) Baker, Kathy (Pat) Jones, Jeanne Christian and stepson Michael (Dara) Hopwood. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and recently 1 great-great-grandson and a great-great-granddaughter on the way in October.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and 3 grand-daughters Katie Baker, Kristy Baker and Brooke Kloer.
As per Lueanne's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held, but a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Our family would like to say "Thank You" to Jean & Kim and the rest of the staff at Hospice Visions. Words cannot express how gtateful we are for the kind and loving care that was given to our m Mom during her final weeks. We appreciate your compassionate team and all you have done for us.
