Margaret Marie Pruett

Margaret (Marie) Pruett, age 85 of Filer, Idaho passed away at home with her grandson by her side, September 19, 2021. As Marie departed her earthly home, leaving her loved ones in this realm, she was awaited in Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus and those who have gone on before to greet her with God’s love. Marie was born in Milford Nebraska on July 31, 1936, to Berniece Gammel Wert and Byron (Daryl) Wert. At the age of six, her family moved to Los Angeles California. She graduated from John Marshall High School (1954) Los Angeles California. She went to work at Newberry’s department store. Marie met her future husband Don Pruett, living next door to her and her parents. They were married on July 30, 1955 in El Monte, California. They were privileged to be married for 53 years. They had three children, Donna, Lynn and Dana. Marie was a housewife for many years until she went to work for JBL Speakers. Don and Marie moved to Idaho 1984 after Don retired. They continued raising, showing and selling their horses on their farm in Buhl, ID, ” Willow Run Morgan Horse Farm”. Marie was a great cook, and she made the best pies. She was always making them either for the family or church functions. She loved crafts, camping, barbecues, sitting out on the front lawn where someone was always stopping by. Her family was very important to her & she helped take care of both grandkids. Don and her also love to take long drives. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Marie is survived by her daughter, Donna Downs and Lynn Pruett, both of Filer, Idaho; her grandson Ryan Downs of Filer, her daughter-in-law, Christie Pruett of Twin Falls; her granddaughter, Kindra (Courtney) Ehrmantraut and her two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Josiah. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Yoko Wert, her little dog Rio and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, son Dana Pruett, her parents, her sister Doris and brother, Gene. Lynn passed away shortly after Marie and now will rest in Buhl, ID as well. A joint Life Celebration will be held for Marie and her daughter, Lynn on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Calvary Assembly of God Church 110 Fruitland Ave., Buhl, ID with Pastor Clifford Silvers officiating. An Graveside Dedication will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 4 PM at the West End Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho. All services and arrangements are under the direction of Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home & Crematory of Twin Falls, Idaho.
