Marian Elizabeth Chilcott

March 19, 1925 – January 21, 2025

Marian Elizabeth Chilcott, 99, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025. Born on March 19, 1925, in El Paso, Texas, to Marion and Pearl (Pratt) Clifton, Marian lived a full and remarkable life defined by love, resilience, and a deep devotion to her family.

At the age of nine, Marian moved to  Idaho, with her mom, where she attended McCall-Donnelly High School and Boise High School, graduating with pride. Always valuing education, she returned to school at age 50, earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Chabot College in Hayward, California—a testament to her lifelong curiosity and determination.

Marian's career journey was as varied as her travels, reflecting her resourcefulness and willingness to serve others. During World War II, she contributed to the war effort by packaging and shipping supplies overseas to soldiers. She later held various clerical roles, volunteered as a school crossing guard, and served as both a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader while raising her children. Always a supportive partner, Marian helped her husband, Robert, achieve his private pilot’s license, standing by him through countless adventures.

Marian was known for her sweet, loving nature and unwavering generosity. She cared deeply for her family and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her hobbies reflected her creativity and love of nature—she nurtured vegetable gardens in challenging climates, crafted elegant pottery and lamps, and, alongside Robert, made beautiful custom jewelry from semi-precious stones they polished together. She also shared memorable experiences panning for gold in the rivers of Oregon, California, Idaho.

Marian and her family resided in many places, following Robert’s career across Washington, Alaska, Utah, California, Nevada, and Idaho, where they eventually settled in 1980.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Thompson, David Chilcott, and Jean (Joseph) Correia; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Pearl Clifton, as well as many cousins, and beloved friends.

Marian’s legacy of love, strength, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
