Marlene Thietten

September 24, 1944 — March 8, 2025

Twin Falls

Marlene Thietten, born September 24, 1944, in Kimberly, Idaho, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 80. A long-time resident of Twin Falls, Marlene found joy in the beauty of Idaho’s landscapes and the simple pleasures of life.

She was a loving mother to her daughters, Shauna Kuest and Stacy Kuest, both of Asheville, North Carolina. Marlene is also survived by her beloved siblings: Gary Thietten of Washington, Utah; Janice Davis of College Place, Washington; and Ray Thietten of Rochester, Michigan.

Marlene lived for adventure and the great outdoors. She loved soaking in Idaho’s many hot springs, exploring the breathtaking natural areas of the Magic Valley, and riding snowmobiles and four-wheelers through the rugged beauty of the Sawtooth Mountains. She found comfort in a scoop of Baskin-Robbins’ coffee ice cream paired with Culver’s soda water and cherished camping trips to state and national parks. Above all, she treasured time spent with family and friends, sharing Jesus with everyone she met, and especially when gathered around a game of Chickenfoot or laughing at and telling good jokes.

Marlene’s adventurous spirit, warmth, laughter, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the mountains she explored, the trails she wandered, and the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of Marlene’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to take a trip to a place she loved, enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and cherish the beauty of the world around you, just as she did.
