Matthew “Mo” Jerod Myers, born June 29th, 1984, passed away on July 4th, 2024 in Twin Falls, Idaho, at the age of 40.
Mo was the youngest son of Bill and Willma Myers of Hansen, Idaho. He was notorious in his neighborhood of Hansen for his inability to keep his clothing on as a youngster. His nude escapades are still a favorite topic amongst family and neighbors. To spot a naked Mo climbing a tree, taking advantage of the free air conditioning at the city Post Office building or simply patrolling the neighborhood was a common occurance on any given day. His ability to escape any door, window or timeout corner, due to his superhuman strength, made keeping him contained and out of trouble an everyday challenge. However, his quick smile, rumbling laugh and deep dimples made for a charming contrast to his wild-child antics and he was always surrounded by deeply loyal friends.
Luckily, once he started his education in the Hansen School system, he had moved onto other creative outlets. During his school days, he enjoyed art, writing, woodworking and was active in track and drama. He used to dream of being a sports journalist and often practiced his Spanish by substituting for his favorite teacher, Miss. Fischbauch, while he was still a student in her class. After graduating from Hansen High School in 2002, he and his best friend Matthew Stallings, began their best years as wanderers. Together, they roamed and worked odd jobs, usually as cooks, around Florida, Oregon and several stops in the mountains of Stanley, Idaho, where Mo found love for the Sawtooths and for Regina Andrada. He and Gina were married in Las Vegas in 2011, until they separated in 2018. They were blessed with two amazing children, Matthew and Cailin, who were the absolute light of his life and his purpose for living.
Providing for his family was his reason for waking up. Mo was known for his excellent work ethic and drive. In most of his jobs, he was fast tracked into management positions after his bosses took notice. He served 10 years at U-Haul and 5 years at the Flying J service station in Jerome until his passing. His son, Matthew, admired his drive and work ethic and is very proud of his dad for always showing up and getting the job done.
Mo had several hobbies and talents. He played the bass guitar in a band in his younger years and loved music, especially Korn, Tenacious D and Jimmy Hendrix. His first concert was Powerman 5000. It made such an impact that he made sure his own children’s first concert was the same. Later in life, he developed a love for woodworking and resin design and had just begun making and selling pieces online. He spent many cherished hours in the garage with his dad testing different techniques and talking about life. His greatest hobby and job though, was being a dad and making memories with his kids. Matthew will remember going to ComicCom, movies and mini golf, swimming and tie-dying and listening to great music while eating good food and hanging out in his SpongeBob shorts. Cailin lived for their daddy-daughter dates, cooking together and baking cupcakes and loved that Mo would watch Youtube to learn how to braid her thick hair. She will especially miss their movie nights with homemade popcorn.
Mo took his role of being a “mama’s boy” very seriously as it reaped great rewards like having his own pan of her delicious yeast rolls at Thanksgiving and being the only one who could get away with stealing food before dinner. He loved family gatherings and was the happiest when he was surrounded by family, laughing and teasing them. He was a caring father and uncle, a genuine brother and a loving son.
Mo is survived by his children; Matthew & Cailin Myers, father; Bill Myers of Twin Falls, mother: Willma Myers of Hansen, siblings: Daniel Anderson, William (Cassia) Myers, Lance Myers, Alesia (Broderick Roberson) Myers, Melissa (Dillon) Allen, his grandmother, Mariko Anderson, half siblings, several aunts, uncles and cousins and his best friend, Matthew Stallings.
