Mina Merle Cook

Mina Merle (McLaughlin) Cook, age 94, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on August 10, 2019.   Mina was born in Basin, Wyoming on August 7, 1925 to Murray Glen McLaughlin and Julia (Overturf) McLaughlin.  She graduated from high school as a four-year honor student in Basin, Wyoming and later completed her LPN training in Idaho in 1974.   Mina married Irwin W. Cook on May 14, 1943 in Basin, Wyoming, subsequently having 4 children and then relocating to Idaho.  The family attended the Twin Falls Seventh-day Adventist church which Mina continued supporting her whole life.  In later years, she was an avid reader, loved to travel and made dozens of beautiful quilts.   Mina was predeceased by her beloved husband Irwin in 1973.  She is survived by her brother William (Bill) McLaughlin, daughter Beth Bull of Wendell, ID son Stephen Cook of Jerome, ID son Victor Cook of Star, ID daughter Cookie Cook of Seattle, WA, nine grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and thirteen great, great grandchildren.   A private memorial service will be held at Park’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, Twin Falls, Idaho on August 23 at 5:00 PM.
