On the morning of February 9th 2025, Nancy Warmack, 90, passed away under the loving care of Ashley Manor (Twin Falls) and Visions Hospice.
Nancy was born July 13th, 1934 to Marvin and M. Ardis Bowman in Los Angeles, CA. Later she was joined by a younger brother William and sister Beth. Many of her childhood memories were of the family living in Arroyo Grande, CA where she graduated high school.
Nancy attended college and received a BA from Occidental College and later an MA in education from Fresno State. She was a high school PE teacher and coach in Santa Rosa, CA for many years.
In August 1958 she married fellow high school teacher Robert Warmack. They just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Robert and Nancy then relocated to Forestville, CA where they raised their 3 daughters.
Robert and Nancy purchased property near Stanley Idaho in 1967 where the family gathered and spent every summer at their self built cabin overlooking the Sawtooth Mountains. In retirement, Nancy and Robert enjoyed traveling and splitting seasons between Stanley and Mesa, AZ where they remained active with tennis, softball, and a cadre of friends. Nancy also enjoyed quilting and genealogy.
Nancy was a lifetime member of her college sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, and spent many years as a member of the Sawtooth Mountain Mama’s. She was a member of the USTA, Sawtooth Interpretive & Historical Association and The Sawtooth Society. Nancy played tennis in Mesa, Sun Valley, and Twin Falls until she was 83 years old.
Nancy is survived by her husband Robert and daughters Susan (Jeff) Gabardi of Buhl; Julie (Guy) Taylor of Buhl; Shelly Warmack of Olympia, WA. Grandchildren Drew (Tyana) Gabardi of Buhl; Isabel Kelli Gabardi (Constantin) of Stockholm, Sweden; Casey Gabardi (Brad) of Buhl; Danielle Taylor of Twin Falls; Wylie Taylor of Jerome; Meghan Robinson (Zach) of Columbus, OH; Taryn Robinson (Andy) of Seattle, WA. In 2024, Nancy’s first great grandchild was born, Ellie Gabardi of Buhl.
Due to Nancy and Robert’s wishes, a private family gathering will occur at a later date with internment at the National Veterans Cemetery in Buhl. In lieu of flowers, please consider doing something kind for animals in shelters or donate to the Sawtooth Historical Society.
