Paul Albert Degner

Paul Albert Degner, 74, of Twin Falls, ID passed away on June 3, 2021 with his family by his side. Paul was born, the eldest of four sons, on December 17, 1946 in Deshler NE to Clarence and Lois (Andreasen) Degner. He was baptized January 5, 1947, and later confirmed.  He loved the Lord and enjoyed serving in the church in many capacities. In 1963 the Degner family moved to south of Hansen, ID. He graduated from Hansen High School in 1965. He served his country proudly as a 2nd Class Airman in the United States Air Force from 1967-72. He married Deborah (Debbie) Wright on May 4, 1975 in Buhl Idaho. Together they raised two daughters, Lyndsay and Angela. Paul had various careers including working on the family farm, long haul truck driver, and an electrician. He retired from the College of Southern Idaho.  

Paul is fondly remembered by his grandchildren for his Daffy Duck impressions and wiggling his ears on command. There was never an animal that he didn't try to befriend and he was known for trying to take home his new friends. A problem solver, Paul was always willing to help and was never too busy to fix a leaky faucet or take a look under the hood of a car. His happy spot was in nature whether it be camping, hunting, or fishing; he never was without a dog by his side.

Paul was preceded in death by his Parents: Clarence and Lois Degner, and Brother: Harlan Degner.

Paul is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie Degner. Daughters: Lyndsay Marsh and Angela (Anthony) Merrill, Son: Garth (Aimee) Wright. Brothers: Kenneth (JoEllen) Degner and David (Janice) Degner. Grandchildren: Heaven Marsh, Mattison Marsh, Lorren Marsh, Abigayle Marsh, Brendan Wright, Tristan Wright, Torin Wright, Brinly Merrill and Maisie Merrill. Great Grand Children: Eedrie, Patricia, and Emery.

A viewing will be held at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, ID on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 5-7pm. The funeral will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 400 Irene St, Kimberly, ID 83341 on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10am, with a grave side service to follow at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery 1585 E Elm St, Buhl, ID 83316  with military honors.

Paul is and will be greatly missed by all who had the honor to call him Friend, Brother, Husband, Uncle, Grandpa, and Dad.
