Richard (Rich) Osman passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at St Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls after a short battle with Covid; he was 77. Rich was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, on December 14, 1942, to Arthur and Viola Osman. The middle child of 3 boys, Rich entered the US Marine Corps in 1961 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, being awarded the Navy Achievement Medal in 1971. After returning home, Rich worked at Los Medanos Hospital in California before moving to Idaho. He worked at the Gooding County Jail and loved being a substitute teacher in many Magic Valley schools. Rich was well known for his strong personality, gruff sense of humor, the motivational knuckle sandwich jest, savvy negotiating, and yellow wind breaker. Rich was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, his mother, Viola, and his older brother Donald. He is survived by his younger brother Dennis Osman and his wife Karen of Buhl, nephew Cassidy Osman and his wife Kara of Ferndale, WA, niece Kathleen Pinkston and her husband Tom of Nampa; and several devoted friends. Arrangements are pending and under the direction of Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home. A celebration of life to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Rich’s family asks (that a donation be made to Operation Gratitude, which supports Military and First responder heroes).
