Robert "Bob" Michael Lopez

Robert “Bob” Lopez, age 83, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 26, 2020, following a courageous 8-year battle with cancer. Bob was born in South Gate, California, on September 9, 1936, to Michael and Oma Lopez. Bob graduated from South Gate High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959 and then in the reserves until 1963. Bob’s passion was for fishing and hunting. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. His took great pride in restoring a 38’ Criss Craft boat, the “Prowler,” which enabled him to enter the Catalina Gold Cup where he fulfilled his lifetime dream of reeling in his first and only marlin. Bob retired from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power after working for 33 years as a lineman. He met and married Elizabeth Martlaro in 1986. They had a daughter, Sarah, and moved from the Southern California area to Bishop, California in 1991, where he was an active member of the Bishop Elks Lodge. After Bob’s retirement, the family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho in 2001. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Richard Lopez of Downey, California, his sister Jeanne Saint of Laguna Woods, California, his sister Jerrie Miller of Palos Verdes, California, and his beloved cat “Tinker.” He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his daughter Sarah Drury (Woody), and his two beautiful grandchildren, Haylee and Vincent, his nieces Monica Saint of Aliso Viejo, California, Terry Young of La Palma, California, Allison Bown (Randy) of Mariposa, California, his nephew Mark Lopez (Wanda their daughter Nicole) and numerous cousins. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Visions (as their team were wonderful and took great care of Bob and our family).
