Rodney Lynn Weeks September 14, 1951 – May 21, 2021 Rodney Lynn Weeks, 69, was a man of many talents. He could, and did, manage a business, remodel a mountain cabin and rebuild airplanes. But most of all, he excelled as a gentle and caring parent, grandparent, brother and friend. Rodney Lynn Weeks was born September 14, 1951 in Twin Falls to Earl Hyrum Weeks and Dorothy Lenoir (Presnell) Weeks. Rod passed away of natural causes May 21, 2021 in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah Medical Center. Rod graduated from Kimberly High School in 1970. He played football, basketball, tennis and was on the track team all four years of high school. He was the drum major of the marching band, participated in concert band, and was a member of several service organizations. He was a gifted mechanic and love to tinker with anything mechanical or electrical. He worked for Bob Reese Motors and later Latham Motors as a certified auto mechanic. In the late 1970s, he changed career paths and worked for Helena Chemical in Yakima, Washington. He then joined Ken Spray Aerial Ag Spraying, which turned into a 40-plus year career in the aerial ag chemical business, retiring in 2018. At Ken Spray, he worked as a fieldsman, operations manager and general manager. Rod attended certification classes to maintain his licenses as a chemical applicator and consultant. His coworkers said he knew every farmer, field and crop in the area. During the off-season, he, Darrell Schmidt and Kenny Owings restored aircraft. Rod was very meticulous about his paperwork, vehicles and the company aircraft. Rod had many lifelong hobbies. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing with family and friends and restoring and enjoying a cabin in the Sawtooth’s with Joe and Linda Weeks. He skied and snowmobiled at the cabin in the South Hills and went recreational flying with Kenny and Dan Owings. Rod’s favorite pastime and the love of his life, was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Even though he literally worked from dawn to dusk during the growing season, he always found time for family. He was always there to provide advice, wisdom and comfort. He enjoyed and dearly loved all of them. Rodney is survived by a son, Brandon (Crista) Weeks of Filer, ID; a daughter, Rebecca (Tyler) Goeckner of Jerome and grandchildren, Austin, Payton, Braxton, Jared, McKenna, Emberli, Zoey and Taisley.
