Roy Lynn Farmer Died May 7, 2022 Born to Bea and Thena Farmer (our wonderful grandparents!) on February 26, 1945, in Berryville Arkansas, the small family of three moved to Twin Falls when Roy was a teenager. There, he met and married Dianna Heil at the young age of 17 and had their #1 Daughter, DonDee LadeannaMarie. Two years later came #2 Daughter, Ronda Lynne (named after Roy). Six years later came little Tony Lamar. Roy was not ready for adulting (cruelly, not for many decades), and so he was estranged from his family for the rest of his life, only reconnecting a little bit during his final years, and a bit more following Diana’s death last May. On his deathbed, Roy said, “I wish I would have known my kids better.” His best friend, Eileen, on whose beautiful and quiet property west of Twin Falls he has lived for nearly 8 years in his trusty motorhome with his little dog Goober, said, “Roy was like a dad to me. I knew him when I was little from living across the alley from his childhood home on 3rd Avenue West. He was a good mechanic, and so, living out back, he would fix everyone’s car, only charging, ‘whatever you can afford.’ We went to the auction every Sunday, where Roy bought his Buick and several tools. We also watched The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune together every day.” Eileen and her family, together with Roy’s circle of friends, were able to finally know the kind, caring and loving man that Roy grew to be late in life. Telling Eileen, “I’ve done a lot of bad things, and my mother brought me up better,” she and some other kind-hearted friends are credited for helping Roy pay his bills to get out of debt, and for helping him obtain his driver’s license and car insurance, for which he was very proud. Roy died peacefully in St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center on Saturday following a diagnosis of brain cancer two months prior, as well as years of suffering with severe leg/foot pain due to bad circulation. He opted not to have an amputation, and sepsis set in. His late-life family, as well as his children, will miss him.
