Twin Falls

Shannon Lynne Carter, affectionately known as Mowgli, passed away on May 23, 2024, in Twin Falls, Idaho, on her 67th birthday. Born in Pico Rivera, California, in 1957, Shannon was a vibrant spirit known for her infectious laugh and striking crystal blue eyes. A beach-loving tomboy at heart, her favorite band was Creedence Clearwater Revival, and her passions included art, cooking, sports, and listening to tunes.

Shannon was an exceptional artist and a beloved mother who imparted the importance of authenticity to her daughters. She lived her life with open arms, embracing and treating everyone like family. Her legacy of acceptance and love is cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Lisa (Earl McAdams); cousin, Randy (Janice Cook); daughters, Rena (Shane Kelsey) and Kaila (Evan Craythorn); and grandson, Haydyn Carter. Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, Kalis and Virginia Tompkins; aunt, Margie Daley; and brother, David Tompkins.

A celebration of Shannon's life will be a private gathering with her closest family, barbecuing, listening to music, and relaxing with the sunset, in true Shannon fashion.

Wilks Funeral Home in Idaho is assisting the family during this time. Shannon's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit and teachings will forever resonate with those she touched.

We love you whole big bunches no shit mom.
