Sylven Joseph Bailey, 86, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at St. Luke’s Magic Valley on October 19, 2022, surrounded by many family members. Sylven was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on April 28, 1936, to Lloyd Myrl Bailey and Josephine Margery Caudle. He graduated from Filer High School and married Dorothy Stephens in Elko, Nevada on December 26, 1970. They were later sealed, for time and all eternity, in the Ogden, Utah temple.H Sylven loved the Lord, his family, and the great outdoors. As a youngster, he worked cattle and built fence through Idaho and Nevada. He would always share experiences and knowledge with children and grandchildren about his work with cattle and horses; he was a true cowboy. Sylven was a soft spoken man with the biggest heart. Although he was a quiet, shy man, he loved the Lord and his family so much. He was a kind and generous soul who always sought to comfort and serve those around him. Sylven also held many positions within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and especially loved serving the families he was asked to visit. Sylven was preceded in death by five brothers, a sister, son, and his parents. He is survived by his wife (Dorothy), his sisters (Pauline, Carol, Judy, and Rosalynn), his children/stepchildren (Dusty, Helen, Ginger, Rowdy, Slade, and Janeil), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, from 6-8PM at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home (2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, Idaho). Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday morning, October 29, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel (605 N. Idaho St, Wendell, Idaho) with a viewing one hour prior to services. Burial will follow the funeral services at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls.
