Bell, age 67 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his wife Julia and two daughters Celia and Angela. Ted was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on December 10, 1955 to Lawrence and M. Beth Bell. He graduated from Twin Falls High School. Ted served in the U.S. Navy from June 1974 to June 1980. He was a Machinist Mate First Class aboard the USS Point Defiance (LSD-31). On one of his tours, he crossed the Equator and became a Shellback. An accomplishment he was very proud of. Ted met the love of his life Julia Magana in Chula Vista, California at a fellow shipmate’s keg party. Two years later Ted and Julia were married on Jan 20, 1979 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Imperial Beach, California. In March of 1980 Ted was granted an early out from the Navy, so they moved back to Twin Falls and bought a home, and were blessed with the birth of Celia Beth. Three years later they were blessed again with the birth of Angela Ann. Ted truly enjoyed hunting, shooting targets, camping, four wheeling, snowmobiling, playing with his grand dog Kemper and of course bar-b-queuing. He also enjoyed working on cars, carpentry and welding. He could just about fix or build anything. Most everyone always said “If Ted can’t fix it, it ain’t broken”. Ted was a volunteer for the Twin Falls Search & Rescue Team. Which gave him great pride to be able to give back and help people. He worked for Chuck’s Heating and A/C and White’s Plumbing, Heating and A/C also. When the new Twin Falls County Jail was built in 1989, he applied for the position of Lead Maintenance Technician. Sheriff James Munn hired Ted on the spot. He knew that Ted would be a great asset for the county, where he retired from after 32 years. Ted also was one of the founding fathers for the Magic Valley ATV Riders Club, which started in his garage. Ted is survived by his wife Julia of 44 loving years. His daughters Celia Bell of Twin Falls, Angela (Jeremy) Martin of Killeen, Texas, two Grandsons Joseph and William Martin. Plus, many nephews and nieces. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Beth Bell, sister Patricia Cogswell, brothers Robert and Ronald Bell, and his Uncle Dee who was like a 2nd father to him.
