Theresa Martindale, a beloved member of the Twin Falls, Idaho community, passed away on
May 1, 2024, at the age of 80 in her hometown. She was born on June 29, 1943, in Twin Falls,
Idaho, to her parents Phil and Mary Ortega.
Throughout her life, Theresa touched the hearts of many with her vibrant personality and loving
spirit. She is remembered with deep affection by all who knew her. Theresa had a joyful and
outgoing nature which endeared her to those around her. Her presence brought laughter and
warmth wherever she went.
In her journey through life, Theresa shared precious moments with her dear family members
and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Phil Ortega, mother Mary Ortega,
husband Jay C. Martindale, son Sonny Stockton, grandson Devan Stockton, ex-husband Tom
Stockton, brothers Floyd Hernandez and Phil Ortega, as well as sisters Maxine Malloy, Joise
Malloy and Alice Tracy.
Theresa leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished forever by her
surviving family members. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Denise Lively and
Laurie Ann Kronyak, and son Jay C. Martindale Jr. Her grandchildren Angela Marie, Tiffany
Michelle, Ashley Elizabeth, Victoria Jean, Justin Thomas, Kye, Ariah, and Jayc, along with 15
great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Additionally, she is also survived by Leonard - a
special man in her life - his three children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.
A dedicated individual in both work and play, Theresa's hardworking nature was evident in all
aspects of her life. From laboring in fields and factories to eventually retiring from truck driving
during harvest seasons; she exemplified strength and determination. Even during quieter
moments as a school bus driver or spending time with family playing on pool leagues, dancing -
she found joy.
Theresa's zest for life was infectious; she enjoyed dancing and adventure-filled activities like
hunting and fishing with Leonard. Her escapades ranged from camping in the Sierras to
traveling cross-country to visit loved ones. Despite facing challenges like sleeping in a car to
avoid bears during trips to Pismo Beach - she embraced every moment.
Those who knew Theresa well knew that she radiated love abundantly through warm embraces
and heartfelt laughter. Her memory will live on through the numerous lives she touched with
kindness and joy.
The services honoring Theresa's remarkable life will be held at Wilks Magic Valley Funeral
Home on May 17th: Viewing from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM followed by the Funeral Service from
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. A Graveside Service will take place at Sunset Memorial Park from 2:00 PM
- 3:00 PM on the same day.
In our hearts forever remembered; Theresa Martindale will be dearly missed yet always
celebrated for the love she shared unconditionally throughout her remarkable journey on Earth.
