Vicki Jo Daily

As we remember our dear Vicki, who passed away unexpectedly October 31, 2020, it is hard to find the words in this space that truly captures the essence of the life of our mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend.

Vicki was third in line of six children born to Sue Carole and Fred H. Maughan, June 15, 1956 in Pocatello, Idaho. She brought immediate joy to the young family as the only girl competing for attention with her two older brothers Doug and Dennis. Vicki had a gift as a caretaker early in life and put those enduring qualities to work full-time when her younger brother, Scott arrived a few years after her, only to be followed by Michelle, and Christine. Vicki was Mom’s little helper, especially with Michelle and Chris. Mom has always said “Vicki raised them”, as she was too busy taking care of a busy household.

Vicki graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1974 and attended Ricks College. She married young and fulfilled a dream of raising a family when blessed with the birth of Shane, followed closely behind by Cassandra and then Lisa (Bugger). They lived in Twin Falls, Idaho, until an opportunity to move to Alpine, Wyoming came up. Vicki loved the great outdoors and was an accomplished angler throughout her life. She and the love of her life, Jeff raised their children to also be active and appreciate the beauty that surrounded them. They instilled the gift of teaching their children the value of hard work and love of family. Vicki was proud of each one of her children and glowed when talking about Shane, Lisa and Cassie, and their successes. They blessed her and Jeff with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vicki was proud that she had a personal relationship with each one of them.

To know Vicki was to experience her caring and kind approach to everyone she came in contact with. She would spend whatever time was needed to listen to your hopes and dreams, as evidenced by multiple daily phone calls to Mom to check on her. She will leave a huge void in the lives of those of who were blessed to know her.

Vicki loved fishing, flowers, high heeled shoes, family, and her beloved Boo and Gracie. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jeffery Allen Daily, her father Fred H. Maughan and brother, Vaughan Douglas Maughan.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Shane Cullinan (Mary Cullinan), Cassandra Boden ( Matt Boden) and Lisa Spaulding (Steve Spaulding); fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; mother, Carole Rocha, and step-father, Ray, brother’s, Dennis Maughan (Jan Rose), Scott Maughan (Jackie); sister’s Michelle Ornelas (Armando), and Christine Kelly (Dale); and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls.  Funeral Services will be held after the visitation at 4:00 PM also being held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home.    In addition, those wishing to share a memory or express condolences may do so at Vicki's memorial page at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com
