Wallis Ray Wright, 78 passed away April 26th 2021 at home with his dog "Freddie" by his side. Wally was born on March 6th 1943 in Hollywood California to William and Carol Wright. Soon after, they moved to Hazelton where he attended school and graduated from Valley High School in 1961. He married the love of his life, Kay Thilmony April 3rd 1965 in Placentia, California. They were married for 53 years until her passing in 2018. Wally worked at Autonetics, a division of North American Aviation in Southern California as a Radar Technician to maintain and test equipment for the Minuteman missile production from 1962 - 1964. He was then drafted into the Army until 1968 and was stationed in Germany where Kay eventually joined him. He returned to California to serve in the Army Reserve until 1972 when he was honorably discharged. In the meantime, their son Christopher was born in 1969. Tears of joy were shed by both that special day. Upon returning from Germany in 1968 he went back to work for Autonetics until 1970 and worked real estate after that. In 1974, he and his family moved back to Idaho where he went to work in the Agricultural Industry until 1987. In 1987 he purchased Twin Lawnmower and ran this business with his son, Chris and wife Kay until it closed in 1999. He did various jobs after that until he decided it was time to retire. Wally loved being a dad. He enjoyed going to car shows, car races, camping, fishing, wood working and oil painting. He also loved classic cars. He owned a 1955 Chevy and his favorite one was his 1960 Chevy Impala. He loved spending time with his granddaughters and being involved with all of their sports, activities and hobbies. Wally was a fun and loving person whom everyone enjoyed being around and he was always up for a new adventure. He made so many wonderful friendships throughout the years and always had a story to tell. Wally is survived by his son Chris (Alisha) Wright of Twin Falls, granddaughters Courtney Wright and Sara (Alex) Sharp of Twin Falls, and sister in law Rita (Joe) Mangano. He is preceded in death by his wife Kay, Sister Kristi and parents Lester and Carol Wright. A Memorial service will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral home on Friday May 7th at 11am. He will be laid to rest at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery in Buhl following the service with Military Honors.
