Wilbur Gene Lemmons

April 10, 1945 — September 27, 2023

Wilbur Gene Lemmons, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, after a long battle with COPD. He had many family members around him during his last few days at his home in Filer, Idaho. Wil was born on April 10th, 1945, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Clifford Lincoln and Betty Jewel Lemmons. Wil wanted to be in the Navy at the early age of 10. At age 16, he filled out the paperwork, and at age 17, his parents gave special permission for him to enlist. He served 4 years with 1 tour in Vietnam, where he was aboard the USS Oriskany. After leaving the Navy, he worked many different jobs, including working with the family business of Honeybees. He was a truck driver who traveled across the United States. One of his last jobs was working at the Green Giant in Buhl, Idaho. Wil loved fishing, old John Wayne movies, anything to do with the military and its history, collecting coins, going to Jackpot, watching NCIS, and going to Arlington Cemetery. Wil had three sons by 1970, Cliff, Jack, and Shane. Then his family kept on growing. He met his one and only true love in 2003, Robin. They joined families on February 7th, 2004. Robin has one son, Jason, and one daughter, April. This was just the beginning, as he even ended up with great-grandkids. Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take such great comfort that Wil was baptized on April 7th, 2023. We know he is rejoicing in Heaven while being reunited with his son Shane. Wil is survived by his wife Robin, children Cliff (Jennifer) Lemmons, Jack (Amber) Lemmons, Jason Hawkins, and April (Robby) Delima; 13 grandkids: Danielle, Tiffanie, Jonathan, Nicole, Nick, Natalie, Jaylynn, Kierra, Braxton, Tony, Patrick, Dayton, and Lincoln; his 26 great-grandkids, his brother Dale (Kathy) Lemmons, sister Connie (Joe) Butler; and his many nieces and nephews. Wil is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Lemmons, Betty Lemmons, and his son Shane Lemmons. Services will be held at the Calvary Assembly of God, 110 Fruitland, in Buhl, Idaho, on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Visions Hospice LLC in Twin Falls, Idaho.
