William “Dennis” Felton, 78, passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2021, with his wife of 56 years by his side. Dennis was born and raised in southern Idaho, graduating from Minico High School and continuing his education at Idaho State University. Dennis married the love of his life, Patricia, on December 21, 1964. After college, Dennis joined the Army and served as a Pilot during the Vietnam War. He often reminisced and shared stories of his time in the sky. Several years later, Dennis began studying the Bible and decided to leave his Military career to pursue peace and share his Bible-based hope for a future paradise, spending several years in the full-time ministry teaching others about the promises and truths found in the Bible. Together with his wife, he was privileged to serve at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York, and branch facilities in Greece and Guatemala. He held a special place in his heart for his family, so later they returned home to the Magic Valley to help on the farm and with other needs. Dennis started his own wallcovering business and enjoyed working with and teaching this skilled trade to some of his nephews, nieces, and friends. Dennis thoroughly enjoyed watching Basketball and Football games, whether sitting in the bleachers at CSI, or cheering for BSU from the couch. He also loved spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors. He would seize every opportunity to go camping, fishing, or paddling away in his canoe. He also loved to travel the world and especially enjoyed cruises. Dennis could quickly earn the trust and loyalty of any furry animal. He loved the dogs and cats he adopted over the years, and even had a following of neighborhood squirrels who would climb onto his lap and eat from his hand. Whatever he was doing, it was easy to spot him in his flannel shirt with a mis-matched hat and humming his favorite tunes. His sincere kindness, generosity, and sense of humor touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents James “Bud” and Elva, and brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Pat, brother-in-law Larry Smith, sisters-in-law Judy (Glen) Olson and Debbie Smith, his brother’s daughters Jackie and Andrea, along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews all of whom admired and loved him dearly. The family would like to thank all of Dennis’ friends and caregivers for the wonderful care and assistance they provided during his battle with Lewy Body Parkinson’s. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
