William (Bill) Paul Maupin

November 20, 1950 — March 1, 2019

William Paul (Bill) Maupin    William Paul Maupin, 68, of Twin Falls, ID, died on March 1, 2019 at the Genesis Twin Falls Care Center.   Bill was born in Twin Falls to Mack and Jean Maupin on November 20, 1950.  He graduated from Twin Falls Senior High School in 1969.  He served in the U. S. Army for two years and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He spent a great deal of his military time in Germany which was a huge adventure for him.  Bill treasured those years in the military and loved to share his stories with anyone that would give him an ear.    He married Sandee Sommer on October 18, 1975 in Twin Falls, ID, although they were divorced in 1995. Out of that marriage came two sons, Travis and Aaron.    Bill worked as a field man for Bakker Brothers Seed Company and then Clover Valley Seed Company for many years. Later he was the manager for Haney Seed Company in Jerome, ID. After leaving the seed industry he and his father purchased a semi that Bill drove on short haul runs until 2001. He retired after that and enjoyed his group of friends that certainly changed over the past two decades.     He spent the years between his retirement and his death battling his demons with alcohol. While these were some deep and dark times for Bill, it is comforting to his family and friends to know he spent the last two years of his life, working hard to maintain his sobriety. He was able to re-build his relationships with his sons and meet his grandchildren.     Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Maupin; his father, Mack Maupin; and his sister, Vicki Maupin McLaughlin.      Survivors include his oldest son, Travis Maupin (Rebekah), daughter, Mia, and their two sons, Mateo and Jaxon; his youngest son, Aaron Maupin (Conny), and their son, Sammy, and their two daughters, Valeria and Vanessa, all of San Diego, California; one brother, Larry Maupin, (Kathy) of Leavenworth, KS; and one sister, Melanie McBride of Rupert, ID.   A celebration of life, with Pastor Jim Sommer officiating, will be held Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 2 PM at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd. Twin Falls, ID  83301. Inurnment and Military Honors will take place at The Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery in Boise on Friday, April 19, 2019.
