William A. "Bill" Peters

July 18, 1941 — January 15, 2023

Bill “Pete” Peters William “Bill” Arthur Peters passed away at St. Luke Medical Center in Twin Falls on Sunday, January 15, 2023 with his family by his side. Bill was born on July 18th, 1941, to Francis Arthur Peters and Sally (Andersen) Peters in Hollywood, California. He was the only child of his parents. Bill had an older stepsister, Laraine (Lindburg) Patton, that he grew up with. As a child, his family moved around and lived in multiple states. However, in the late 50’s his family moved back to Los Angeles, California where he graduated from John Marshall High School in 1959. In 1967 Bill married Jan (Reid) Peters. They were married for 55 years. Jan was the love of his life, business partner, inspiration and strength that kept him going. Together they raised 4 sons, Henry, Billy, Jeff and Tim. Bill loved coaching his kids in sports and life. He loved his sons very much and continued to have close relationships with all of them throughout their adult lives. Bill worked in various capacities throughout his life. His love of cars led to a career in the automotive industry where he worked for Chrysler Corporation, as well as multiple dealerships around Southern California. In 1977, Bill and a partner started AMEX Corporation which provided hydraulic hoists, air compressors and other parts for auto service centers around Southern California. In 1982 he moved his family to Filer, ID to semi-retire. Bill had many different jobs after moving to Idaho but much of the time he was an entrepreneur; including owning BJ’s Automotive and Gas (Buhl), Pioneer Club (Twin Falls), Pet Cemetery (Twin Falls) and his current endeavor, Magic Valley Cab. Being in Idaho fostered his love of the outdoors. In his younger years he loved to shoot, hunt, camp or just take a drive to Redfish Lake. Bill was an avid collector of cars, coins, and guns. As much as he loved collecting each of these items, it could be said that he enjoyed the thrill of the negotiation as much as anything! He was a member of the Chariot Car club of Twin Falls where he loved to show off his muscle cars. Bill will always be remembered for his quick-witted opinions, big heart, contagious laugh and love of animals. He was the cornerstone of the Peters family and will be greatly missed. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and various aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife Jan Peters of Twin Falls; son Henry Peters of Boise; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Deanna Peters of Nampa and their two children Jeremy and Kristen; Son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Melanie Peters of Boise and their children Alisha, Malori, Lauren, Brooke and Brendan; Son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Janice Peters of Boise, their children, Braden, Andy and Emily; Sister Laraine Patton of Twin Falls. Services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Twin Falls Reformed Church at 3pm. There will be social gathering with food at the church following the service.
