William Michael Schaniel

William Michael Schaniel, 79, of Twin Falls, passed away October 26, 2021, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on September 8, 1942, in Mobile, Alabama, the son of William Nicholas and Irma Melinda Williams Schaniel. He graduated from Murphy High School and went on to enlist in the US Air Force. He served our country as an Aircraft Mechanic prior to being discharged due to injuries sustained while in the service in Germany.

He married Connie Greene on January 29, 1987. They moved to Twin Falls in 1991, where he worked at Sears them transitioned to selling Home Audio Visual systems throughout Idaho and Montana. Mike loved to Bass fish and was successful in many tournaments and shared his talents in Electronics and promoted his knowledge with many throughout the world. He traveled extensively in his life, traveling the entire globe including Japan, Greece, Iceland, England, and Germany. Living throughout his life in Greece, England, and Germany, and relished his memories of his time in Greece. But there was no place like home, growing up in Alabama. Mike loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, showing them unconditional love and treasuring the time he could spend with them. 

Surviving are his wife Connie of Twin Falls, daughters – Vanessa Schaniel of Italy, Ashley Streisand of England, Chelsea Schaniel of Twin Falls, Sons – Jared Bostron of Nampa, Chase Schaniel of Twin Falls, along with six grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and one Brother – Joe Schaniel. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  We love you Papa!

Funeral services will be held on November 16, 2021, at 10:30 A.M. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls. Interment will follow at the Snake River National Cemetery in Buhl. Friends may call on November 15, 2021, from 5 – 7 P.M. at the funeral Home.
